This policy describes the processes in place to ensure content quality on Arthritis Care’s website.

User consultation

The views of people living with arthritis inform the website at every level. The content, design and navigation are developed in consultation with people with arthritis. This is achieved through user focus groups, questionnaires and online feedback.

The content is reviewed for relevancy to people with arthritis on a twice yearly basis, and new developments are planned in consultation with users.

Editorial and quality assurance processes

All contributors have been trained to write in plain English and the editorial team supports this at every stage. Content adheres to Arthritis Care’s House Style and Use of Language guidelines. (available on request).

Every page on this website is checked by an editorial team with relevant knowledge and experience in health journalism.

Before any page is published it is reviewed by the web team.

Health and medical information has been written by trained health writers, and is quality assured by our team of medical experts and our helplines service.

Reviews of content

Reviews take place regularly, with a particular emphasis on health information as any changes become public.

Dates confirming the last update are displayed at the bottom of each page and information is accurate at the time of publication.

Booklets

All our information booklets, which are available as downloads on our website, are devised with and for people with arthritis. They are written by trained health journalists and quality checked by Arthritis Care’s team of medical experts and the helplines service.

The content and accuracy of the booklets is reviewed twice a year. Dates are printed on all new reprints or new editions.
