Arthritis Care will only include links to websites that provide relevant and useful information primarily for people with arthritis. We will also consider websites that will be useful for healthcare professionals, carers and researchers working with people with arthritis.
organisations, associations and voluntary support groups providing information and support on:
various types of arthritis, symptoms etc
other relevant medical conditions
discrimination and legal rights
lifestyle-related sites providing useful information on aspects of healthy living
UK (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) government sites and relevant public sector organisations
relevant professional organisations and journals aimed at healthcare professionals and medical researchers
research-related sites providing information relevant to research on arthritis
corporate sector organisations involved in a fundraising or sponsorship partnership with Arthritis Care
sites for unproven therapies or products
individual personal websites
sites that contain illegal, offensive or misleading information
we will not knowingly provide links to sites that have a direct connection with the tobacco or alcohol industries, or that provide information about unproven therapies or products
we aim to link to UK-based websites to ensure information is appropriate and relevant to people with arthritis, and will only link to non-UK based websites when no equivalent website exists in the UK
Websites which wish to obtain a link
from the Arthritis Care website must download the website criteria checklist
and return it to the Arthritis Care web team
A website will be assessed on accessibility, quality of information, nature of
content and the way in which it handles any personal data. Please see our website criteria checklist for further
information.
If a website is found to be suitable to the organisation as a whole and
passes these quality checks, a link will be supplied.
Arthritis Care retains the right to reject or remove a link at any time without
notice.
If you are unhappy with a decision made on the provision of a website link, you can appeal to the Head of Information Services. Please note, when appealing, the decision of the Head of Information Services is final.
Arthritis Care takes no responsibility for the content of external
websites. The existence of a link to an external website or a link to the
Arthritis Care website from an external website does not imply that Arthritis
Care endorses the activities or views of that organisation.
In no event shall Arthritis Care be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly,
for any damage or loss caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance
on any such content, goods, or services available on or through any such site
or resource.
We would caution all users to consult with their own healthcare team before making any changes in the management of their condition.
