Learning to live with a chronic or long-term condition like arthritis is not easy, and the effects it has on your body as well as your life can be difficult to cope with.

The arthritis self-management programme was developed at Stanford University Medical Centre over 20 years ago, and has proved to be effective in improving health behaviours, reducing pain, fatigue, anxiety and depression, as well as reducing the number of visits to the GP.

The main purpose of the course is to empower people with arthritis to take control of their own lives and any decisions related to their health.
