Have you been inspired to run the 2012 Virgin London Marathon?

The Virgin London Marathon is the world’s biggest fundraiser and one of life’s toughest challenges. Over 34,000 people take to the streets of London every April, each with their own reason for taking part.

We look after our runners from start to finish. Every step you take for Arthritis Care and every pound you raise will go towards helping 10 million people living with arthritis in the UK, to fight back against their pain and see a positive future.

Charity Places

Our application process for 2012's Virgin London Marathon is now closed. However if you are  interested in applying for a space on our reserve list then please complete our application form .

Open Ballot Places

The Virgin London Marathon Open Ballot went live on 26 April 2011 and closed when it received 125,000 applicants. Ballot results are announced in October. If you are successful, we would love to welcome you onto the team, where you will receive the same support as a charity place runner.

All our runners will receive:

  • fundraising pack including things to help you host your own mini-events such as balloons, bags, collection pots
  • regular updates and newsletters
  • advice from Arthritis Care’s professional marathon coach, Ron Chalk
  • an exclusive Arthritis Care running vest
  • post-race reception for you and your supporters
  • a runners goodie bag
