For people living with arthritis, walking even a couple of metres can seem like a mountain climb. But this year, we are challenging ourselves to do something special.
Launching on World Arthritis Day (12 October) this year, Arthritis Care aims to walk the world by taking 50 million steps as part of our Fit to Move campaign. Armed with pedometers and a sense of adventure, the more steps we take the further we travel around the globe through our website. Undertake the challenge with us and we can walk the world together.
Whether you have arthritis or not, keeping active is a great way of fighting back against joint problems. By exercising, you build stronger bones which can help you have a better range of movement and joint mobility.
If you have arthritis, following a regular exercise programme enables you to live a more independent and less painful life. Exercise can help with better pain management, increased muscle strength, reduced stress, increased energy levels and better breathing. It can also improve your self-esteem.
We are asking you to join us to help raise vital funds to enable Arthritis Care to continue to support and help people living with arthritis. At the same time, you will be getting active to help reduce pain and keep your joints mobile.
To register your interest in joining us for this challenge please email us on Fittomove@arthritiscare.org.uk or call 020 7380 6500 with your details. We will then be in touch shortly with an information pack on how you can get started.
