Arthritis Care hospital information points provide relevant and reliable information to members of the public at a location that is frequented by people with arthritis, their families and carers such as

  • rheumatology and orthopaedic clinics,
  • physiotherapy and occupational therapy departments,
  • hospital foyers etc.

Resource for specialist staff

Arthritis Care has several dozen of hospital information points (HIPs) in the region. Our booklets, factsheets and information about local support also provide an important resource for specialist staff.

At Derby City Hospital rheumatology clinic which re-located from Derby Royal Infirmary in April 2009,  Arthritis Care publications have been available for several years.

Specific booklets such as 'Coping with pain' ; 'Living with rheumatoid arthritis'; 'Healthy eating and arthritis' form part of  an information pack the rheumatology clinic provides for its patients.

Richard Whitehorn, rheumatology nurse specialist at the hospital said:

"We are very aware in the department how important it is to people with arthritis to have a broad range of information about arthritis and the ways that it can impact on peole's lives.

So we are very pleased to have an  information point containing the excellent Arthritis Care information booklets, and we are grateful for the funding for this information point and for Elisabeth's work in ensuring we always have the display racks topped up."

Cromer Hospital Information Point

"The Arthritis Care information displayed at our hospital is well received by so many patients who find it useful and informative. The proof is in the fact that the racks empty very quickly. The factsheets in other  languages are also very helpful" said Billy Lawson, rheumatology nurse at Cromer Hospital.
