The “taster” of Arthritis Care' s services brought to Leamington Spa on 1st October was very well received.

New Arthritis Care groups

There has been a keen interest in getting involved with the charity too. Several people offered to help set up support groups in Rugby and Leamington.

Helplines support

“In the four hours we were there, we saw 27 people” said Guy Brain from the charity's helplines.

Many conversations included themes of

  • poorly controlled pain
  •  problems with medication
  •  side effects and safety
  • concerns relating to surgery
  • referral difficulties

Taster sessions

The taster sessions in pain management and exercise for fun and fitness were well attended. 25 people who took part on the day are are now registered to go on a Challenging Arthritis course when it next comes to the area.

Would you like to get involved in setting up a group or just want to join when it’s up and running? please get in touch.

"I haven't seen so much informtion from one organisation before" commented one visitor.

The day was very informal, some people just popped in to pick up booklets whilst others stopped longer to talk
