Residential and day care workers, care planners and care managers benefited from attending courses run by Arthritis Care.

North East Lincolnshire Council commissioned a series of one-day Arthritis Awareness and Pain Cycle courses. The courses aimed to:

  • provide an overview of arthritis and its impact, giving delegates an understanding of how they can provide more effective support to people with arthritis
  • provide an understanding of the pain cycle associated with arthritis, and to enable better management of that pain

Participants on the courses felt that what they had learnt would be useful to them in their day to day work. Comments included:

  • ‘I found the course very informative’
  • ‘I’ll let other carers know about what I’ve learnt’
  • ‘I’ll put into practice what I’ve learnt today, and hopefully improve for the service users in the home’
  • ‘Anyone working in care should do this course’
