If you are living with chronic pain, due to arthritis or any other condition, this course could be for you. Challenging Pain is a short course for adults which provides you with easy skills and techniques to manage your chronic pain and regain control of your life.
‘It gave me helpful steps to manage my pain’
It just takes two hours and forty five minutes for each of the two sessions over two consecutive weeks (in an accessible venue). Enough time to pick up techniques that could turn your life around.
The two workshops are discussion-based with practical demonstrations of relaxation techniques. Clearly written handouts are provided for you to absorb in your own time. The trainers (who also experience chronic pain) ensure there is a supportive environment in which people feel they can speak freely.
We use a relaxation CD during this workshop. You can listen to a sample of this here.
All our courses and workshops are free to attend. We obtain funding from various bodies which covers our running costs. This in fact serves as another guarantee of quality as we have to evaluate and feedback to our funders to show how each course went.
Challenging Pain has been clinically trialled and proven to reduce people’s anxiety about their health and to improve their confidence in dealing with their health problems. Participants regularly tell us what a huge difference the course has made to them: read for yourself.
Take a look at our course calendar and use the information there to complete our form. If there isn’t anything available near you, please still send us your form. This means we can keep track of demand and keep you up to date with announcements of any new courses.
