Join the Campaigners Network

One of Arthritis Care’s greatest strengths in campaigning has been the efforts of
local people lobbying politicians and decision-makers. It gives a personal dimension to a campaign and can be very effective in changing minds and getting results.

Local campaigning also highlights local issues, such as car parking problems or the lack of proper facilities for people in some areas.

Arthritis Care's Campaigners Network supports its important campaigning work to improve rights and services for people with arthritis across Northern Ireland.

Making a difference…

The network has been set up to support people wishing to add their voice to the call for high quality services and rights for people with arthritis.

The network is:

  • free to join
  • open to Arthritis Care members and non-members

The amount of time network supporters put into their campaigning is entirely up to the individual.

Free welcome pack and newsletters…

Network supporters receive a free welcome pack with top tips on campaigning and lots of information on how decisions are made in Northern Ireland. Supporters also receive a free newsletter – Campaigns Action – three times a year.

The policy and campaigns team at Arthritis Care is also available to provide information and guidance to individuals wishing to start up their own campaigns.

Shape campaigning priorities

Supporters will also have an opportunity to feed their views into the network to help shape Arthritis Care’s campaigning priorities. There will be:

  • opportunities to get involved with our media activities
  • opportunities to link up with other people in the same area with the same campaigning interests

As the network grows in Northern Ireland, we hope to be able to offer supporters the opportunity to take part in campaigns workshops and training.
