Staff and volunteers from Arthritis Care in Northern Ireland started working towards the charter mark standard 'Investing in Volunteers' in May 2007. After a lot of hard work, we were all delighted to get the news in May this year that we had been successful, and attended an event hosted by the Volunteer Development Agency (the body overseeing the award in Northern Ireland) in June 2008, where we were presented with our award.
A number of volunteers and branch officers were interviewed as part of the assessment process, and we received very postive feedback about their commitment, enthusiasm and knowledge of the organisation. We are very grateful to all of those who participated, who were selected at random by the awarding body.
Achieving this award clearly demonstrates our commitment to volunteering and is recognition of the value we place upon our volunteers and the contribution they make to the organisation.
If anyone is interested in volunteering for Arthritis Care in Northern Ireland, you can be assured we have all the necessary systems and procedures in place to make your volunteering experience a smooth and enjoyable one.
