Alex McLeish celebrated Arthritis Care's diamond jubilee with a photo shoot at Hampden. It is hoped that the photos will be used by newspapers and raise awareness of the impact of arthritis and the work that Arthritis Care does to support all people with arthritis.
Around 25 people gathered at the home of Scottish football, and a range of pictures were taken. Katy Green, information and campaigns manager in Scotland commented, "Sadly, the grass was resting, and so we were unable to demonstrate our ball skills. However we did go through the tunnel, and onto the pitch side, and heard the Hampden roar as we left."
Alex particularly wanted to raise awareness of the fact that arthritis does not just affect older people, and spent time talking to the children who were there as well as signing autographs. The children also took the opportunity to get signatures from other footballers while waiting at reception.
