With the support of the Pfizer UK Foundation, Arthritis Care south England will be running the 'Challenging Pain Rural Communities project' in Devon
The project's key objectives are:
- To improve the quality of life for people with arthritis, particularly men, in North Devon, by helping them manage their pain more effectively·
- To ensure that the people with arthritis have access to high quality information about the best possible services and support available to them·
- To reduce the health inequalities faced by the harder to reach groups of people in Devon, specifically men·
- To access groups such as the elderly, people living in remote rural communities, people with mobility issues, literacy problems and the unemployed ·
- To bring support to the doorsteps of communities that would not otherwise pro-actively seek out help with living with arthritis
- To pilot our new volunteer handbook.
We plan to provide 12 ‘Challenging Pain’ courses to the people of rural Devon. Please fill in our waiting list form if you would like to come to a course in Devon.
