Arthritis Care campaigns to make a real difference to the lives of
people living with arthritis and their families right across Wales.
People
with arthritis work and volunteer at every level within Arthritis Care
and we know only too well that arthritis-related services and issues
have traditionally not been regarded as enough of a priority by
decision makers at many levels of government and in the NHS.
We understand the daily consequences of that lack of priority status in the lives of people with arthritis.
We
are aware of the popular misconceptions regarding arthritis – that it
only affects older people, that there is little that can be done to
treat the condition or limit its impact – and we are aware of the
damage caused by such mistruths.
So what is Arthritis Care doing about it?
Arthritis
Care campaigns at the local, Wales, UK and EU levels to raise awareness
and understanding of arthritis and for services for people with
arthritis to receive appropriate prioritisation and resources.
We
campaign constructively to work with and support health and social care
providers to improve their services in resource-effective ways that
meet the needs of local people with arthritis. Find out more about Arthritis Care’s campaigns issues.
