Public Information Points – or PIPs – are information stands staffed by trained volunteers who have arthritis themselves. The main aim of a PIP is to provide relevant and reliable information to people with arthritis, their families and carers.

What can I get from an information point?

Information available at a PIP includes literature on different forms of arthritis and many aspects of living with the disease, such as:

  • surgery
  • safe exercise
  • diet
  • reaching and maintaining independence
  • benefits
  • emotional issues when living with arthritis
  • complementary therapies
  • pain management.

Information about self-management training opportunities for people with arthritis within the locality is also available, along with information about local Arthritis Care groups and UK-wide services.

Providing support

PIPs provide clear and accurate information to people with arthritis enabling them to make well-informed decisions about how they manage their arthritis and their life.

Our volunteers are there to listen to your concerns and guide you towards the information and support you need. If you’d like to visit an information point contact us to find out when it will be at:

  • University Hospital Wales, Cardiff
  • Prince Phillip Hospital, Llanelli
