'I used a relaxation tape to relax and gave myself permission to take time out.' Sylvie

Most people feel tired after a hard day at the office, looking after the family or doing an activity like gardening. But, for people with arthritis, physical and mental weariness can be a part of daily life. It can come on without reason and isn’t always resolved by resting. It can result in lack of energy, trouble concentrating, thinking and speaking. It can also lead to shortness of breath, light headedness, whole body tiredness and irritability.

There are many types of relaxation techniques - meditation is one that many people find helpful. Meditation can help arthritis by reducing stress, dealing with pain and inducing a feeling of well-being. You don’t have to go to a class to meditate.
