Your healthcare team can be a great source of information and as they have access to your medical records, can give you personalised advice. Some people find it useful to take a list of questions with them to their appointments to ensure that they don’t forget to ask anything; you can also write down the answers so you can refer back to them later if you need to.
You can also contact the Careline at Diabetes UK which is staffed by trained counsellors who will have the time to talk things through and give you whatever information and support they can:
Call: 0845 120 2960, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm (BT calls from landlines cost no more than 4p per minute; calls from other providers and mobiles may vary. Alternatively, call 020 7424 1000 and ask Reception to transfer your call to the Careline.
