As a disabled person, have you been restricted from driving?

Have you been unfairly restricted from driving due to your disability? If so, we want to hear your experiences.

The European Union (EU) directive on driving licences states that:

"Specific provisions should be adopted to make it easier for physically disabled persons to drive vehicles".

A directive is a kind of instruction for member states from the EU. They will typically describe a particular outcome relating to an issue and member states, such as the UK, must take measures to achieve that outcome.

In this case, the directive means, in part, that member states must take steps to ensure that physically disabled people are not unduly restricted from driving.

A group that is involved in campaigning on issues relating to mobility for disabled people is interested to hear if you have faced any obstacles to or restrictions on your ability to drive.

They are especially interested to know if, as a disabled person, you have either been refused permission to drive or have had unreasonable restrictions placed on your licence as a result of your disability.
