Friday 12 October 2012 is World Arthritis Day

People with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases around the world can join together to make their voices heard. Arthritis Care are encouraging all their supporters to join them in an online campaign simply called “HELP”

A recent survey into Osteoarthritis (OA) reported that:

  • 1 in 8 people – over 1 million people in the UK – live day in, day out, with unbearable pain.
  • 8.5 million people in the UK have OA and 71% of them are in constant pain

We need your help to combat this pain.

We want you to change your Twitter and Facebook profile picture to our specially created image and then encourage your friends and followers to do likewise!

We need to encourage as many donations as possible – to help us combat the pain caused by arthritis.

We will be using the following hashtag on Twitter:

And the following text:

“Text PAIN10 £5 to 70070 to donate today”

Donations can be made online by clicking this link

Cheques made payable to “Arthritis Care” can be sent to:

WAD – Keep Waving

Thank you to everyone who has sent photographs and videos and contributed to the more than 38,000 people waving for WAD so far. This is a fantastic achievement, but the more people waving their support, the more impact our campaign will have. The Waving gallery will remain open after 12 October, so please keep sending in your waving pictures. Click here to add your waving photograph or video now!
View the photographs in the gallery and you can check out how many people have been waving from your country.
