Rosemary Blair Chair of Arthritis Care said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Judith to Arthritis Care. She is the ideal person to lead the organisation in taking forward the new business plan recently approved by our Trustees. This includes some exciting developments, such as a telephone buddy support service and the OA Nation 2012 survey to inform our campaigning for a better deal for people living with arthritis.’
Judith is a highly experienced leader and senior manager with strong expertise in strategic development, service delivery and fundraising. She has worked as Chief Executive of the Impetus Trust and more recently as UK Director of VSO, where she led on increasing income from £6 million to £12 million.
As well as her 15 years of substantial executive work in the voluntary sector, Judith brings a wealth of local government and health service experience to Arthritis Care. As Lead Member for Social Services and Health in the London Borough of Lambeth, she took the Council through a challenging service improvement programme and she is currently a non-executive director of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
Commenting on her appointment, Judith Brodie said: ”I am excited to join Arthritis Care, and am looking forward to driving the charity forward to make an even bigger difference for the 10 million people with arthritis”
Judith joined Arthritis Care on 22 March 2012 and will have a two week handover period with Interim Chief Executive Susie Parsons.
