Skeleton of hands

Neil Betteridge, Arthritis Care’s chief executive, chaired the National Audit Office (NAO)’s conference on its rheumatoid arthritis (RA) report.

The conference discussed the findings and the recommendations of the report ‘Improving services for people with rheumatoid arthritis’ published on 15 July 2009.

Arthritis Care was closely involved in the audit and Neil Betteridge was part of the expert panel overseeing the project.

The NAO is responsible for making sure government spending is effective and efficient. Their latest report has shown that health services in England are not meeting the needs of people with RA and make a number of important recommendations.

The NAO reports directly to Parliament. Their reports and their recommendations can have a significant impact on government services.
