This year Arthritis Care's young persons' helpline The Source will celebrate its tenth anniversary.

The helpline service has provided support to over 3,680 parents, carers and young people with arthritis in the 10 years since its launch in June 2001. The number of contacts per year has more than doubled. The majority of individuals contact the service via The Source helpline (56%) and the rest make contact through the forum, by email or letter.

We are planning a series of events and fundraisers to celebrate on 1 June – the official anniversary.

Have you been helped by The Source?

We would like to hear how The Source helped you. Please let us know by:

  • sending us an email: TheSource@arthritiscare.org.uk or
  • you could tell your story on film and upload it on to YouTube with a tag of TheSource@10.

We would like to share your story in your local media to help others discover The Source too.

The Source is a telephone helpline, an email service and an online forum. These all offer confidential support, information and publications to parents, families of children who have arthritis and young people. It is also available to medical and other professionals like teachers or anyone involved with young people with arthritis.

Our Helpline services has been awarded the Telephone Helplines Association accreditation standard which shows that we comply with the very highest standards.
