House rule 1 has been updated and now reads
1. Please respect other users and do not break the law. This means no abusive, threatening, libellous or obscene messages, or messages that may otherwise be considered offensive or imflammatory to other forum users. Those breaking this rule will be warned once and then banned for a second offence.

Please can all forum members ensure they read and abide to this new version of the ruling.
thank you
Webmanager

I read it so well that I noticed a spelling error.

Hi webmanager

Still finding my way round though I joined some months ago and have been looking in and just found a nice personal message from the helpline for which many thanks and I will reply to soon. :D

Sorry to nit pick but my partner is a lawyer and has seen many a forum rule being used with what he considers to be some flexibility!.

Can I please ask when this ruling comes in force please? I noticed two postings myself only yesterday which surprised me and would have broken such a rule though the person responsible for them both is clearly still posting which has left me a tad confused. :? When you say banned do you mean permanently or for a set amount of time?

I hope this enquiry doesn't offend but feel this point may need further clarity so that everyone can all abide by it.
please advise when you can
thank you
aicha

I have to say, I did wondered who would be the judge of 'offensive and inflammatory'. There are those (I'm thinking of the wider world, not this forum) who can't wait to be offended and others  capable of offending without even trying.

Yeah I was thinking about this issue, how do you define what is or isn't acceptable, I fear the forum is going to simply end up in the same mess we were all forced to suffered last Christmas with the Scottish forum fiasco.
And just like last time what if someone simply keeps making anonymous formal complaints against a poster?, how can you safeguard against such targeting?.

I got told off last year by webmanager for talking about tummy and toilet troubles and yet I have seen others do exactly the same. I did wonder if they got warned as the post went on for a while. I stopped talking about my problems after getting told off, yet the other person didn't look like they got told off! So with this new 'house rule' how far is to far? And who makes the final decision?

Hi bubbadog what happend to you happened to me and a few others, there were unkown poster who were lodging large amounts of formal complaints against anything they thought they could use as a weapon to try and mess up the forum which they did as in the end you couldn't move without atracting a complaint on the most silly of things and it all came to a head last Christmas with the now imfamous Scottish forum fiasco, some call it "the night they killed the Haggis!".
Anyway it's been OK'ish recently but things could well be getting a bit iffy again so don't be suprised if the same thing happens to you again, it seems it's a patern we have on here, but that said keep going as you are for now have faith in ther MOD's and managers and don't worry to much your a decent kind of poster and your posts have never been nasty or rude well only in the minds of the unseen anarchist's that lurk in the dark corners so I'm sure there's not much even they can pin on you, it's me and a few others who are the ones at serious risk on here.
But if you do find it gets a bit silly on here though you can always get a bit of free speach R & R on the sagazone forum.
You can really post almost anything you like on there it's to big for the odd small group to manipulate there's also a lot of forums to debate and or chat on from hobbie to politics so there's plenty to keep you happy. As they say Varity is the spice of life!.
