Ankylosing spondylitis

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a condition that affects the spine and other joints, causing pain and stiffness. The condition usually becomes apparent during a person’s teenage years or in early adulthood. AS can be present for up to 10 years before being identified by an X-ray.
