Chair based exercise DVD
Fitness is having the physical strength and stamina to live the life we want to live. Whatever our age we want to be able to perform basic activities of daily living, such as walking, lifting your shopping, gardening, walking the dog or travelling.
This DVD is designed to increase independence in people who are becoming less active, by promoting mobility, flexibility and strength.
Arthritis Care believes there is a need to provide safe, effective and fun exercises for those that have low mobility. The chair is a great place to start as it provides a place of security, particularly for those with mobility, balance and confidence problems. When you participate in these simple exercises you should feel less inhibited and feel your confidence building.
Performing these gentle sitting exercises will help improve your mobility and prevent falls, and can even be done at home.
Don't worry if you've not done much for a while, these seated exercises are gentle and easy to follow. If you're not very active, you may want to get the all-clear from a GP before starting.
